Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...

This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.

We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.

That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

College Life

All throughout my high school career I was very quiet, almost isolated from the rest of the school. Everything I did, I always did it by myself sometimes even group projects. I knew I would not survive college being the way I was. After graduating high school I promised myself that I would become more outgoing and make more friends.

I got to Drexel and realized it was very easy to make friends because there were no cliques or groups. Within the first few hours I had already met girls on my floor that I was getting along with. All of the girls helped each other move in and went out to eat right after. I never thought that we would get so close in a matter of a day.  That night we went out to Greek Night on the Row and then Ross Commons, which turned out to be the best night of my life. It started as meeting one person who introduced me to their friends and so on. I ended up meeting about twenty-five people towards the end of the night.

At Greek Night, everyone was standing on the sidewalks making new friends and having a good time with free food and music. That’s when a whole group of us decided to go to Ross Commons and get to know each other better. We all talked about where we were from and our majors. I met people that truly make my college experience worth it. These people have been with me every step of the way ever since I’ve come to college. Basically, my first week at college was a completely amazing experience.
