Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...

This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.

We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.

That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

Is College Culture Making Us Smarter?

The answer to this question is yes in fact it is. Daily things that normal people see a college person do, may see mundain and ordinary to those people. However to us we are learning to survive in a new enviroment away from parents, family, and friends who have sheltered us for most of our lives. Some people are doing laundry for the first time in thier lifes, others are cooking and cleaning, and still others are just trying to fit in in this brand new place. All of these activities are making us smarter one way or another. From the outside it may look like we do most of our learning in the classroom when in fact we do most of it in the real world each day gaining experiences that we will draw upon later in our lifes.
