Some people try and make new friends on facebook, but whenever you try and meet new people, you have to act a little nicer. A lot of employers now look at facebook, but people are just deleting inappropriate things rather than adding messages to look better. There is no reason for people to be kinder on facebook than any other time in life. People who you're friends with already know your personality, and stranger who may judge you aren't really important. People who DO act kinder on facebook need to learn how to shut the computer off and make some new friends, face to face.
Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...
This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.
We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.
That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

facebook, its still me
Facebook is a fabulous tool for keeping in touch with friends. Its an easy way to e-mail, say a quick hello on a 'wall' or look through pictures; its much more convenient than snail mail and printing pictures. I'd have to argue that facebook has no affect on how kind we are to one another. How you treat people is how you treat people. If people are changing their personality on facebook, they're just putting on an act. Online social networking is a way to display your personality to others. If you're sarcastic in person, most likely your posts will be sarcastic. If you tease your friends in person, you'll probably send mean bumper stickers to one another. When I'm on facebook, I'm still me, same personality, same level of kindness.
