Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...

This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.

We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.

That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

The Curriculum

The English 101 curriculum has made it very inspiring to think critically and creatively. The articles which our quizzes cover are very interesting. My high school English classes consisted of reading the classic novels, analyzing them and then presenting our arguments based on our analysis. With my first ever college English course I am exposed to more real world literature which I can relate to, making it more enjoyable to analyze. Reading these pieces along with discussing our conclusions in class the next day have made class fun, even though it is at 8 in the morning.
Project 1 was a great opportunity to generate a topic which I had personal interest in. It almost felt unnatural but very refreshing at the same time, to be able to write in any direction. I look forward to the rest of the course.
