As a current Facebook user I would have to disagree with the fact that Facebook makes you kinder. The one thing that Facebook does that might make its users kinder is by making the users more aware and conscious of their actions. Because the user knows that all there comments, pictures, status, and relationships are constantly updated they will need to constantly think before they act because there actions will be available for everyone to see.
I have witnessed many wall posts, groups and comments that involve fighting and trash-talking between schools, teams or groups, mostly always people that are not even aware of who the other person is. I have seen far more negative things from facebook than things that make people kinder. the only kind thing, although fake, is when everyone will wish their friends happy birthday or contact someone that they usually would not.
I would not consider Facebook a tool to make people kinder, just a tool to pry into different peoples lives, like a constant shadow
Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...
This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.
We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.
That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.
