Personally, finding myself immersed in the unfamiliar city of Philadelphia has been an interesting learning experience. I grew up in a fairly rural town that is nothing like my new home. Getting where I wanted to go was a simple thing. In my hometown there are few roads, and getting anywhere is more or less a simple matter of driving in a straight line. Moving into the city has forced me to learn and entire new set of rules. At first I was very confused by the plethora of one-way streets and the nonsensical oddities of Philly's road system, such as 23rd street being directly across the bridge from 30th. Coming to Drexel, and being immersed in a place so different from what I am used to has been as much of a learning experience for me as any class I have ever taken.
Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...
This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.
We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.
That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

How College Life Makes Us Smarter
To an outsider, life here at Drexel may not seem like the best educational experience. One may immediately take note of the way students waste time on frivolous, non-educational activities like playing video games, wandering around Philadelphia, and finding every way possible to put off doing homework or studying. An outsider may make this assumption, but experiencing life at Drexel first hand, it's easy to see that this isn't the case.
