Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...
This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.
We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.
That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

Facebook is making us more "kindly"
Social Networking like facebook is making people more “kindly.” Options on facebook like status updates, birthday reminders, and the “wall” is making us communicate with other people more often. Many people use status updates to tell their facebook friends how they are feeling or what they are doing. When people read that a person is feeling happy or sad, usually they will comment the person to make him or her feel better. Moreover, facebook users often use the birthday reminders that appear a couple of days before each person’s birthday to remember their birthday. Even if the person is not close to the person whose birthday it is, usually he or she will send a birthday greeting just to be nice. Lastly, the “wall” on facebook is making everyone more kind towards each other. When people add each other as friends, they usually would feel awkward just adding them without saying anything. Most of the time, when a person is added as a friend, there will be some sort of talk between them even if it is just general. It is evident that social networking makes people nicer.
