Although we do try to help other people get better at there interests and hobbies through networks such as facebook, we do this hoping they will return the favor and help us get better. We know what we want, so we do that thinking we will get that in return. A common act that is used when commenting pics is "pc 4 pc" which means picture comment for picture comment. There may be a few, but most users are not expecting to the only ones helping others out in this wired society. They except the same in return and although facebook is causing young people to be more kind it is usually because they want to reap the rewards of being kind, not just to be kind.
Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...
This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.
We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.
That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

Facebook makes us kinder for the wrong reasons
Facebook and other social networking technologies aid in making people, especially young people, more kind. This is because facebook, when used correctly, is meant for networking. People can create groups for their band, for their hobbies (i.e. screenwriting), to help bring notice to a cause or an event that occurred, whether it was good or bad, and etc. We act more kind towards these people because we want them to act kind towards us. We leave them well constructed feedback hoping they will do the same for us. This is where the wrong reasons become a factor.
