Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...

This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.

We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.

That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

FACEBOOK is ruining everyones LIVES!!

Twitter, Facebook, and other social networking technologies are becoming a big use throughout the world. It keeps people connected to each other, but the real question is that if these social technologies are making people more “kindly?”

I believe that these social technologies are not making people more “kindly.” Yes, people add one another and start talking online, but when they bump into each other or see one another somewhere they do not come up n say “oh hi, I think I met you on facebook.” Online, people may seem nice because they can write anything about their lives and some of information may not even be true, but when meeting the person for the first time they can be a whole different person who you never knew. At first they can be nice, but then after some days they’ll act like they don’t know you and just ditch you. That happens when they make new friends and forgets about the online ones. People are not who you think they are online; they are a whole different person in reality. Online is just a way for them to make themselves a “nice” and “kind” person but in the real world their personality is exposed. Facebook and other social technologies is the center of “drama.” Where all the rumors and rude comments starts and leads to a huge fight when people meet face to face. The only good thing about this is that it can keep people connected, but at the same time people can stalk someone. Many people have been in a situation where they have a stalker from Facebook which leads to paranoia.

Facebook is just another thing that is addicting and taking over everyone’s lives because all people want to do is find people on Facebook and look at the pictures and comments that others leave.
