Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...
This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.
We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.
That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

'Thirsting' for Knowledge
Society of Drexel is definitely making us more intelligent. The social life at parties increases ones intelligence. A student goes to a party not necessarily for the alcohol, or to get drunk, they go for the social interaction. Being social with other people is intelligent because one learns other point of views and can learn completely new ideas. Without social interaction, there would not be any criticism or disagreements with ones ideas and viewpoints. One form of social interaction is debating; with this, one can expand their knowledge of certain topics. On the other hand, some people will completely disagree about college parties being intelligent. They may argue you that alcohol is bad and makes people act inappropriately. I could not disagree more, alcohol is not bad; in fact, alcohol is an aid for students that may or may not socialize well with others. The alcohol helps the student unwind and connect with students on a completely new level. Alcohol aside, intelligence is definitely required to make friends and interact with others. One needs intelligence in order to decide who to talk to and who to stay away from at parties. So, the next time you see a bunch of Drexel students, either heading over to a party or at a party, remember they are just ‘thirsty’ for knowledge.
