Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...

This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.

We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.

That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

The Smart Way to Travel

Traveling from one place to another takes lots of thought and awareness. Coming to college from a different state means taking hours at a time to go back home. One of the bad things about having to go back to New York for a weekend is the lengthy bus/ train ride. Taking different forms or transportation mean using your brain to get back in the shortest time possible. Going home on a Friday means taking the bus from Philadelphia all the way to Penn Station in New York City and from there, going to Grand Central and taking the Metro North train up to Pleasantville. This whole adventure could take up to 4 hours or more. Taking the train would obviously take less time but after getting off at Penn Station, I would still have to take another train.

Money and time are the two things that a person needs to be alert about. A train could cost anything from $10 to $150 while taking a bus could start at only $1!  When traveling, time can be very precious, and person has to be quick about making the right decisions. Traveling regularly helps condition the mind into making better decisions.
