First and foremost, this program teaches us how o work well with others and communicate. Even the most talented writers have had to collaborate and work with others to achieve success in theater and in this film industry. If one cannot capture the ability to coexist, compromise, and share ideas with one or many individuals then they most likely will not survive in the industry. Communication is arguable the base of our culture. IF one cannot communicate with another then we would never be able to learn from the past and each other and thus would never be able to grow as a community. This is one of the main things that is taught in this program.
This program at Drexel also teaches us how to use software such as Movie Magic Screenwriter to help aid us in writing our scripts correctly and to the best of out ability. Intertwined with screenwriting and playwriting is film and video. This means that we also gain knowledge within the software that is used for editing and with equipment that aids in lighting, sounds, and camera technology. This keeps out brain constantly active and able to allow us to learn new things so we can evolve as a community. As we grow as a society it is extremely important to keep up with the latest technology, especially that which is used in our selected major, so we can thrive in our careers.
