Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...
This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.
We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.
That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

Question in The "Hook Up" Culture
The author gives many reasons for why college students hook up at parties and asks whether or not this is affecting long term relationships. The answer is yes it affects them if you are in a relationship. It is simple if you want a long term relationship than don't go to parties and hook up. As a culture I disagree that hooking up changes our perception of traditional dating. It is merely a way for single people to go and let loose, and meet new friends. Although it is usually not the intention these hook ups can turn into long term relationships. If it turns out that you really do have interests and can hold a conversation than why can't you start a relationship. The negative effects the author is referring to sound to me to be negative effects of cheating not hooking up. As long as your not currently in a relationship than hooking up is harmless, just be careful. Drinking adds to the fun but it is important to make sure you still have your judgment.
