Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...

This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.

We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.

That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

The Hook Up Culture...interesante..

The paper, "Hook up culture", basically summarized that the college "hook up" scene is unhealthy and that college students should return to the traditional ways of dating. What else it said is that hooking up is making finding a lasting relationship harder to find and making college students wary of commitment. Really what point I would like to bring up is that we are very young to be settling down. Serious relationships, as mentioned in the paper, can hinder one from going out and meeting more people, because they the individual would rather spend time with their significant other. Also, although I do not  recommend  getting drunk for the sole purpose of finding someone for instant sexual gratification, but this is an inevitable considering the amount of hormones that are racing in our barely adult bodies. I know that this stance on things sounds like something our parents tell us when we are 14, but realize that some of our student body have never been in a party situation before, and thus they don't know how to control how much they drink, or their actions once they become drunk.
