Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...

This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.

We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.

That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

Trojan VS Playdough

The first article i read was about Trojan condoms. I went from the word 'trojan' to 'gay' in a matter of seconds. Trojans are used for sex, after sex you can get pregnant, and your child could be straight or gay. The real question is are you born gay or do you choose to be gay? Many people around me believe that it is a choice but i believe that it is not. I believe it is a curiosity that begins at an early age which develops into being gay.

The next paper i read had to do with play dough. Not just play dough in general but making it. Then I began to think about all of the life skills you do not learn in school, posing the question, how useful is school? There are many things you do not learn that you need every day. Beginning with the first thing you do in the morning, we were never taught in school, how to brush our teeth. We are not taught how to wash dishes, or how to turn on electronics, or how to put make up on. When you have calculators left and right, who really needs algebra when we need to learn how to tie our shoes to get to a job interview?
