Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...

This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.

We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.

That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

Revenge now has a "FACE"

*Ring Ring Ring*

“Eh Mi Gawd (omg) did you see what that bitch commented on my picture?!?!!?”

“Omg like who the hell does she think she is?!!?!! She is soooo gonna pay for that. Just wait till I message her boyfriend and tell him about who she was grinding up on at the party saturday.”

Sound familiar? Assuming you are a member of the fastest growing networking site (who isn’t, really?), then you probably have had some involvement in a similar exchange before.  Facebook does not by any means incline people to be kinder. If anything, it is the utter root of social turmoil.  Facebook has become the modern source of “he said-she said” conflicts. If anyone is trying to make a public statement, there isn’t a more effective way to do it than through Facebook. For this reason, many individuals use it as the place to plant their revenge. Whether it’s posting an embarrassing picture, leaving a nasty comment, or messaging an x-boyfriend’s new love interest to notify her you’re still very much in his life, Facebook offers a variety of ways to “get the job done.” Forget about face-to-face confrontation! The first stabs in an argument are now done via the world wide web! Revenge never tasted so sweet as when Mark Zuckerberg gave a ‘face’ to it.
