Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...
This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.
We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.
That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

The Streets of Miami-Dade County
I read an article called "Are Hispanics the new ‘Threat’? Minority group threat and fear of crime in Miami-Dade County." The article tried help determine the role that race plays in fear of criminal activity in Miami-Dade County. The author studied and compared the sizes of the Black and Latino populations within the county. The author also compares how the Blacks are highly segregated from the Whites in the county, and how there are much more Latinos in the county than Blacks and Whites. The author figured that the Latino population was the reason behind the fear of criminal activity in the county due to the fact that Blacks and Whites are highly segregated within the county. The article helped understand where criminal activity fears come from within multiracial communities.
