Sororities and Fraternities always get a lot of crap. Some that they are just for parties, or fake friends. However, this article not only proved to me that they are something more than that, but that they are actually a valuable piece of culture. The question posed is why is there such a negative view of these institutions?
Honestly I have no idea why. I see these groups as one big family, willing to help out another member in need. Not only do they care for eachother, they see their bond as something than cannot be broken. Together they perform philanthropy, and help make a difference as a unit. This unity is hard to find no matter what scenario one may be in. Whether is family, military, or a sport's team, one can only wish to find it. I hope to one day I will find this special feeling inside that allows me to feel at home, even when I am so far away from it.
Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...
This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.
We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.
That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.
