After my third day of college some friends told me about a concert being held on campus. Not only was there music but there was food, a great combination. After recieving a text saying "we're on our way." I walked out of my dorm to meet up with the group. It had been a long day of classes so I really needed some time to relax after English, Psychology, Dance, and University 101. We began to walk our way towards the noise. After arriving we all realized that that is all it was, noise. None of us enjoyed the band so we distracted ourselves with the tables full of food. We filled our plates with hotdogs and watermelon. Eating the food was definately the best part of my day. The watermelon beat the hotdogs by a mile though.
As we ate, the group talked about a plethora of topics. We conversed about sports, places, heritage, money, etc. I really got to know people for the first time. The rest of the week I had met others but only in the beginnig of classes leaving no time to get to know eachother. I love meeting new people so the concert/bbq was definately a good idea and there is a huge chance I will go to another.
Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...
This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.
We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.
That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.
