Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...

This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.

We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.

That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

Re. The Female Advantage

I think the author has a very strong point when tryin to express her argument "We are in an era where financial success dominates over morality" This is very true. How else would girls have that female 'advantage'. . It may seem like an advantage to the author, being pretty and being able to enter the older clubs. To her, they are being used to lure men. Do the girls really not mind being used in that way? being allowed in the club so older, usually considerably older, men would follow then the club makes more money. They are a little reminiscent of bait. Do they ever consider what might happen inside? This old man would come in and buy a drink, you flirt and tease so you can get more drinks and 'revel in the thrills of intoxication' what are you going to do when he harrasses you or tries to take you away. The club is not going to help you just because you made them a few extra dollars. They made their money and at the end of it all you are alone.
Here's another advantage. Young, pretty girls who want to get into the club really badly. Yes, they will get in because they are young and sexy women; thats what attracted them to the bouncer in the first place. The bouncer would let them in IF they do 'something' for him. Iv been around when girls have let bouncers fondle them just so they could get into a club for free. they are girls and are using their advantage but is that really an advantage?
