Freedom’s Curse from The Atlantic is about profanity and certain curse words that are banned from being said on television. The FCC has stopped curse words from being said in the media mostly because children may be watching tv and may be exposed to such content. This article also shows examples of how people like Nicole Richie and Cher used profanity on television. Even if the word is not said in the way that it is meant, it is not to be said.
The article that I found called “A Free Voice” is talking about the exact same thing, and how the government is trying to protect children from hearing/ seeing inappropriate material in the media. The author of this article is also trying to say that government should back off a little because broadcasters need to serve what the public likes.
