Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...

This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.

We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.

That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.

do females really get the "female advantage"?

Are females given breaks and advantages that men do not? I believe women are given a break in many instances and have a true advantage. For example, if a man and a women are pulled over for the exact same reason, the female is likely to come out of the situation with a warning while the man has more of a chance to get a ticket. This advantage in my eyes would only be there if the female was dealing with a male cop, because males give females leeway. In general, guys are suckers for girls. They are more willing to do things for a female than a male. Another example would be if a guy was walking through a door and a female was behind him, he would hold the door for her. If it was a male behind him the chances he would hold the door would be much less.
It is clear that females have an advantage and most males and even females would agree. Most people think that all females are given the advantage, but really they are not. Females who men find attractive are the ones with the real advantage. Pretty girls are more likely to get breaks, and get away with more than girls who are less atrractive. Back to the examples I used before a pretty girl would be so much more likely to get a warning from a police officer than a girl who is overweight with an unattractive face. A guy would hold the door for a female that they find attractive over a female that they find to be ugly. Females are given an advantge, but pretty females are the ones who get the real advantage.
