The book assignments DO help

With an english class that meets once a week, this is new to me. While in class, the instructor does give you an idea of what he wants for the assignment, I find that the book is a good reinforcer of what you are meant to be pursuing in your paper. Our most recent and first assignment, Project 1, was to write a complex paper, a paper meant to pull something significant from an event insignificant or even so simple as a trip into South Street. While this was the idea described in class, reading the ch 2 within the book gave a more detailed approach to such a topic required in Project 1. The chapter made me realize that the Project 1 would take a more persuasive approach and even tutored the reader on examples of what is expected throught "evocative detail".
