Scholarly articles are useful because of their strong information, backed research and reliable sources. As with the three text messaging articles, while the first two articles have either a business approach or journalistic approach, the third article is scholarly because of its purpose, sources and research. When doing a research project a scholarly article will prove useful because the information is backed, has sources and is reliable. These are all important factors to assure one that their essay is going to be accurate, informative and reliable.

Music Therapy For Pain Relief: Does It Work?
Nearly everyday there are new advancements in technology and science, advancements meant to make our lives easier and better. One study that particularly interests me is music therapy and its relevance in health and medical sciences. The article I read was entitled 'Complementary And Alternative Medicine For Acute Procedural Pain In Children' and talked about several different treatments of pain relief for children and teenagers undergoing medical procedures. This new wave of pain relief is called Complementary and Alternative Medical (CAM) Therapies. It is still in question however if the methods used prove to be useful. Different forms of CAM therapies include massage therapy, acupuncture, laughter therapy, humor therapy and music therapy. Several experiments were performed with organized control groups and the proper scientific method. The results for music therapy were more successful the older the child was and if the patient picked out their own music. For many of the standard tests classical music was played in headphones during immunizations. The experiment yielded positive results of pain relief and relaxation in older children, while the results were not as significant with infants. Overall these tests could be inaccurate because almost every child and human being for that matter have different levels of pain, comfort and reactions to both. Though inaccuracy could be a factor the results from this essay were interesting and informative. Out of the cases described the therapy was useful.
