College life has been amazing so far. Coming in to Drexel, I was a nervous wreck about everything! It was really overwhelming to accept the fact that I would be living on my own and that I would have a lot to be responsible for. I was also terrified that the numerous amount of parties and social activities going on would come in the way of my studies and drive for success. I came to find out that Drexel wasn’t going to be a bad place after all once I met my roommate, Laura. We clicked so well once we started talking, and I found out that we have plenty in common. We both have really good time management skills. We make time to study and concentrate on school work, but we also make time for ourselves and having fun.
On Thursday, the 4th floor of Kelly Hall, the eleven story residence hall and floor I live on, had breakfast for dinner. On every floor comes a kitchen, and that night our RA (room advisor) and a couple of girls from my floor made pancakes. It was very cute how the whole event was set up. Once I walked into the kitchen that night, with my roommate Laura, we right away smelled the hot pancakes cooking. There was also an array of fruits and toppings set up on the table to the left of us. We were served our pancakes right away and I devoured them! I had a lot of fun eating and socializing with the girls on my floor. Many students from other floors of Kelly Hall also came to our kitchen and joined us. The yummy smell of pancakes couldn’t keep them away! I met plenty of new people that night from all over the nation. It was a great social event, and I’m glad I attended.
Welcome to 32nd and Chestnut...
This is the blog for 75 or so Drexel students, most of whom are new to college and new to Drexel.
We'll document the strangeness of college life, try to translate our experience for diverse readers, and chronicle what it means to be a college student during these crazy days of economic turmoil and political battle.
That's it for now; I have to go an play Spore.
