Response to "Why We Fight?"

In response to “Why We Fight?” the question posed is why do people fighting becoming more popular? I do agree that society has become increasingly violent, with video games, TV shoes like UFC as the author noted, etc. and I have a lot of friends who are mesmerized by the TV screen when UFC comes on. It is exciting and to some people they get a rush from it.

Most people think fighting is all about who is tougher but it is actually because people get enjoyment out of watching people getting hurt. If someone can walk away from a problem instead of fighting I think that makes you look “more manly” because that is the ultimate goal of fighting. Personally, I think it’s hilarious when a guy gets mad that another guy is ‘checkin' out his girl’ because that is just insecurity. Fighting can be a bigger deal than most people think but unfortunately it is seen as no big deal in our culture today.
