I agree that Facebook is a great way to meet new people and excellent for networking. Yet, it seems as though people are relying on Facebook not for secondary social activity but primary. Rather than calling a person or meeting them for dinner, a facebooker writes on a instead. Facebook should only be used to possibly make a reach of meeting people and possibly as secondary social activity. If there is someone that you may not have ever met in person than it is acceptable to rely on Facebook as an introduction. However soon after, the newly acquainted facebookers should meet personally. For the most time this does not happen, the personal interaction has been removed.
The facebook may make us virtually kinder to others. This, however, does not mean that it is making us physically kinder. It is great to help people online, but there is a very thin line that crosses from being virtually kind to being socially awkward. It is fine to use facebook, like i said, as a secondary way of showing kindness. But, personal interaction should always be included. Without the personal interaction, how is one able to separate virtual kindness and virtual sarcasm.
Overall, Facebook can make some virtually kinder, but there is nothing more kind than personal interaction.
